Antaeus Travel Stories: Exploring Greece with Our Filipino Team

We were thrilled to host Isabel and Erika from the Antaeus Marine team in the Philippines for 2 exciting weeks of training in Greece!

While here, they embraced the opportunity to explore Athens, diving into its rich history and marveling at the iconic Acropolis. With sunny skies, they also flew to Santorini for a magical weekend getaway. There, they experienced the charm of Greek island life at its finest—complete with breathtaking sunsets and picturesque views.

They’ve shared with us some incredible photos and stories from their trip!

ERICA

It was my first time traveling internationally, and my trip to Greece definitely set a high bar for me!

We spent our weekend in Santorini, Greece, and I’m so glad we did! The caldera, the sunset in Oia, and the charming alleys were absolutely breathtaking—it felt surreal. No words can truly describe how beautiful the island is! Plus, there weren’t many tourists since it was the off-season.

I was captivated by the history and beauty of the Acropolis. I had only read about it and seen pictures before, so seeing it with my own eyes gave me goosebumps—especially when viewing the original artifacts.

Our last night in Greece was a magical experience! Witnessing the lighting of the Christmas tree and exploring the city made it a memorable end to our trip.

Overall, this journey awakened my desire to see the world, to experience new places, and to learn about other cultures—a passion that had been dormant since the pandemic.

ISABEL

My trip to Greece had been on my travel bucket list for ages, and this year, I’m incredibly grateful to Antaeus for giving me the opportunity to immerse myself in the rich history and stunning beauty that Greece has to offer. From ancient ruins to breathtaking sunsets, every moment felt like a dream come true.

My journey began in Athens, where I visited the iconic Acropolis. With its towering columns and storied past, it was undoubtedly the highlight of my trip. Standing beneath the Parthenon, I couldn’t help but marvel at the sheer scale and craftsmanship of this ancient wonder. Wandering through the ruins, I found myself imagining life in ancient Greece during its golden age—it felt like stepping into a time machine, but without the awkward toga! This experience awakened my love for history, leaving me wanting to learn even more about the Acropolis. It was truly unforgettable.

Next, I took a short flight to Santorini, an island I had always dreamed of visiting. Let me tell you, the reality exceeded the dream! Santorini’s whitewashed buildings, blue-domed churches, and jaw-dropping caldera views are just as stunning as you’ve seen in pictures—if not more. The moment I arrived, I was spellbound. I couldn’t believe I was finally seeing it all with my own eyes. The sunsets, the charming alleys, and the serene atmosphere made it an experience of a lifetime. Honestly, I half-expected Zeus himself to pop out and say, “Welcome to paradise!”

Reflecting on my stay in Greece, it was the perfect blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. From the ancient wonders of Athens to the tranquil sunsets of Santorini, every moment left me in awe of this country’s timeless charm. Whether you’re a history buff, a foodie, or just someone looking for paradise (and really, who isn’t?), Greece has something unforgettable for everyone. I only wish I had more time to explore even more of this incredible country—but hey, that’s just an excuse to come back, right?
